Myth II Version 1.7.1 is a bug fix update to Myth II 1.7, containing over 100 individual fixes and improvements.
A few examples of things that were fixed in 1.7.1:
- Sounds occasionally playing at maximum volume when they shouldn't.
- Units getting permanently stuck in a clump.
- The 'Heron Turn' bug, where a Heron would bizarrely turn 90° before healing.
- Erroneous endgame scoring, famously seen at MWC '09.
- Netgame crashes when starting a coop with over 102 veterans.
- A glitch that could cause the last level to become impossible to win.
- Several serious issues fixed on Windows Vista / Windows 7.
- A few causes of reduced OpenGL performance.
- Various small issues with the interface and 3rd party interfaces.
- Incorrect zoom levels on widescreen monitors.
- Support for high-resolution detail textures under OpenGL.
- Improvements to the in-game camera to make it feel smoother and more responsive.
- A resizable overhead map, which can be easily scaled by shift-clicking and dragging.
- A system to automatically find missing plugins, if they are available on The Tain.
- Support for high-resolution quicktime cutscenes.
- Numerous bug fixes eliminating many causes of crashing and Out of Sync errors.
- New mapmaking features to allow for interesting gameplay in 3rd party add-ons.

Myth II 1.7.1 builds upon the the strong foundation of Myth II 1.7. Version 1.7 was a feature and bug fix update, which brought exciting new features to the game, such as detail textures, smoother camera movement, an online plugin finder and more.
