Myth II 1.3.2 Released & Myth 1.4 Announced! [Doobie, 11:20 pM]
Project Magma and MythDev are proud to present the first non-Bungie update for Myth II: Soulblighter. Version 1.3.2 takes care of a few compability problems with newer operating systems. The game has been carbonized allowing it to run natively under Mac OS X, and the flashing cursor bug that has plagued users of Direct3D under Windows 2000/XP has been eliminated. Other improvements include increased network security for multiplayer, and reduced chat lag. Myth II v1.3.2 will be completely backwards compatible with version 1.3, and works on both PlayMyth.Net and Marius.Net.

But the good news doesn't stop there! Now that carbonization is out of the way, we can move onto more exciting improvements in a future release, Myth 1.4 which will contain over 100 additional bug fixes and enhancements including an optional "TFL Gamplay" feature that perfectly replicates TFL in the Myth II client, effectively bringing both communities into one program.

Magma Ports Venice and Plains to TFL! [Doobie, 10:20 AM]
With the release "Venice" and "Plains" (complete with myth 2 units and models) Project Magma has completed it’s original goal of porting all 9 original Myth 2 Bungie netmaps to TFL! But don’t expect this to be the last you’ll hear from us, now we can move on to our own original maps, and some of the great 3rd party maps that Myth 2 has to offer.

The creation of "Venice" was lead by Losk of Society of the Journeymen, whose ingenious scripting made the complex models, and collapsible walls possible in the Myth TFL engine. Plains is perhaps the most unique, and creative of all the magma maps made thus-far. "Raid on the Plains" was skipped, but you will find "Demise on the Plains" and 3 new FFA variants. Instead of a 5th netmap, ChrisP decided to create his own coop variant, the highly anticipated "Mazzarin’s Demise" which is played out on the "Plains" mesh.

Historically Mazzarin defeats seven waves of thrall, only to be killed by The Watcher himself. Think you can change history? Well we’re willing to give a "Grounds for Assault 2" map compilation CD to every person on the first team to submit a film of "Mazzarin’s Demise" being beaten on legendary difficulty (cheaters will be disqualified). Send your film to us at coggs@hl.udogs.net, and it will be reviewed. Good luck! ;-)

Both maps, and some 3D quicktime movies of the "Plains" mesh can be found at projectmagma.net along with all the other magma creations.

Marius.Net Now Supports Myth II: Soulblighter! [Doobie, 12:29 PM]
Marius.Net is now supporting Myth II: Soulblighter, in addition to Myth: TFL. The required files are ready for download and come with the following instructions:

1) Move your bungie.net DNS plugin and Patch 1.2 files out of the plugins folder and put in a safe place.

2) Unzip the mariusnet_SB file and move the two plugin files (marius net DNS and marius net Patch) to your plugin folder.

3) Delete the bungienet pref file that is in the preference folder.

4) Use your existing marius net account and connect, or if needed sign up for a marius net account.

To play on bungie.net again, reverse the installation process.

On a side note, the installation files for Myth: TFL have been updated again to tweak a few of the graphics, and add 2 new room graphics, so don't forget to update your mnet installation TFLers.

µDog Hotline Revamp [Doobie, 12:23 PM]
µDog Hotline has recently changed addresses, the ":42000" suffix has been dropped, so now all you need to type in the IP field is hl.udogs.net or doobie.dyndns.org

We've also undergone some renovations. There are now many many more files for Myth TFL, and entirely new sections for Myth 2, Myth 3, and many other games.

No login or password are required, if you don't have hotline, i recommend you try it out. It's a peer to peer file transfer program like FTP, but it also has news and chat features. Go to www.hotlinesw.com to download yourself a hotline client.

If you already have a hotline client, you can use the link below to connect automatically.

New TFL Metaserver!! [Doobie, 3:54 PM]
Marius and Conner of Clanplaid have really outdone themselves this time. marius.net is a bungie.net Myth:TFL server emulator. It more or less functions as the Bungie TFL server would, from the standpoint of what the game expects at least. This allows you to 'login' from inside Myth:TFL, move from room to room, create and join games -- just as if you are on bungie.net

You can download the required files and get more information here

Truly a grand acheivement. So grand in fact, that this looks like the end for BattleWatch. We thank you for your patronage, and hope you've enjoyed this service. BattleWatch will remain available in the unlikely event of b.net (if it ever comes back up), and marius.net going down.
